Metacon engineers is developed by a compact heat treatment furnace for hardening of tool and die steel. The furnace is a stand alone type with a hardening chamber above and a tempering chamber below it. This quench oil tank is mounted on castors and fits under the tempering chamber and can be pulled out during quenching. It can accomodate die of maximum 400 mm diameter and 80 mm height. The furnace is electrically heated and is designed to operate at optimum power consumption. The maximum temperature achievable is 1100c in hardening and 600c in tempering. The provision for introducing inert gas in the hardening chamber is there. The compact size makes the furnace ideally suited for small and medium sized tool rooms and also for small batch production of components. It is available in 3 models. The company also manufactures standard and custom built furnaces for temperatures up to 1500c for metallurgical and ceramic applications.
